Don’t wait for VALIDATION – AFFIRM YOURSELF

You may be the wealthiest person on earth or the most attractive person – but everybody needs a bit of affirmation at some point. That affirmation does not need to come from other people, hence there’s something called ‘self-affirmation’. As a person, you need to constantly remind yourself that you’re great, that you’re beautiful, and you’re worthy. You don’t have to wait for someone’s validation or acceptance in order to feel good about yourself. There are various effective ways one can self-affirm.

Be kind to yourself!

Nothing beats kindness. Being kind to yourself is the best thing you could ever do for yourself. Don’t be so hard on yourself when you make mistakes – what matters is the fact that you realize your mistakes, and you’re willing to work on them. You can practice being kind to yourself by speaking to yourself kindly, having that healthy intrapersonal communication with yourself, and grounding yourself. Other examples of how you can practice being kind to yourself is by looking into the mirror everyday, speaking positivity into your life, reminding yourself that you’re beautiful, and reminding yourself that you’re great! Doing things that you like might also make you feel good as well – like dressing up, doing your make-up, going out or even having a chilled day with the people you love.

Know your worth!

As a person you need to know your worth. You need to know that your worth is not measured by people’s validations or acceptance. You don’t need to seek validation in other people, when you know your worth, when you know that you’re great, and you’re worthy of great things. Being surrounded by people that love and appreciate should be proof that you’re worthy of love and the best things in life.

Look back on your achievements/accomplishments

Whenever you feel down, look back on what you’ve achieved or accomplished, because that will be a good reminder of what you’re capable of doing. People tend to get lost in the world, that they sometimes forget who they are and what they are capable of. Your achievements are proof of how far you’ve come and that you’re capable of doing great things. If you’ve done it before, you can do it again. Always believe in yourself.
